Themfriend (or theyfriend) is a way of referring to your sweetie who is nonbinary. It's both cute and gender-affirming - what more could we want!
Themfriends was created in 2019 by Enby Emily, who developed an interest in sex toy design after years of not finding right-sized gender free toys in the indie maker space. All of the skills needed to run this company - from 3D modeling and silicone molding, to website design and social media outreach - have been self-taught. All toys are designed, poured, packed, and delivered by this one-enby show.
The silicone used in ThemFriends toys is 100% platinum-cure silicone, which is the category of silicone used in the medical industry. This silicone does not break down under normal conditions, does not exude any chemicals or odors, can be completely sterilized. Not all platinum silicone is certified body safe; however, we choose to only work with specific products that do have that certification. Colorants used are either mica-bonded pigments or silicone-carrier pigments intended for use in prosthetic applications. Glitter is colorless calcium sodium borosilicate, not plastic, which is more earth-friendly and will not poke through silicone and cut skin.

Will you ever offer dual density choices in other models than the Ally?
Why yes! We plan to add dual density options for the Familiar and a few of the larger Sidekick models when we have some spare time for moldmaking.

Yes, each toy has a base with a wide, firm flange meant to keep the toy from being fully drawn into the anal cavity, and as such would generally be regarded as anal safe. That said, you are the only one who knows what your body is capable of. If you start to feel a toy is unsafe, please discontinue using it. We can't be responsible for any injuries that might happen during use.
Will my toy look like the one in the picture?
Each toy is hand poured and therefore will look a little different than the one pictured, particularly if it's a swirled toy. We use the same pour method every time, so it should look similar, just not identical.
Soft and Extra Soft single density toys have a firm base poured separately from the main body, so there will be a small visible line between those two pours. That line may not be visible in the pictures you see on the product page.
Dual density toys with a swirl pour have much softer, less defined swirls than single density toys, because of how the silicone moves when the firm core is inserted. This softer swirl pattern isn't visible in all photos, but you can see the comparison below.
Not at this time. We hope we've given you a broad enough range of options that you feel like you're getting a custom toy though! Also keep an eye out for periodic new color variations. What lube can I use with my toy?
You can use any water or oil based lube with your ThemFriends toy. Please avoid silicone lube, as it may cause the silicone toy to become gummy and degraded. If silicone lube is your only option, we recommend using a condom completely over the toy so that it doesn't come in contact with the lube, and wash it as soon as you can with soap and water.
The two biggest dangers to platinum silicone toys are (1) sharp things and (2) contact with non-platinum silicone toys. We recommend storing your toy away from anything hard or sharp, and in a different container than any PVC, TPR, or non-platinum silicone toys you may have. Contact with these materials may degrade platinum silicone. We also recommend storing your toy wrapped in cloth, rather than something non-breathable like plastic, to help avoid the buildup of moisture or any residual bacteria that might be present.
My toy attracts dust. How can I avoid that?
Oh does silicone ever attract dust! Every silicone toy ever made has had this problem. If we find a way to avoid that, we'll let you know. For now the best advice we can give is that a quick rinse with regular tap water right before use should do the trick.
Simple hot soapy water is the best and easiest way to clean your toy after use. Specialized sex toy cleaning products do work and are considered safe, but they really are unnecessary since soap works just as well. Let the toy air dry fully before storing.
It's super easy! Just bring a clean kitchen pot full of tap water to a full rolling boil, then add your toy and wait ten minutes while the water continues boiling. Carefully remove the toy with tongs and let dry, or pour off the water and let the toy cool in the empty pot before picking it up. Your toy is now sterilized and ready to share (if you so choose).
How can I eliminate odors from my toy?
Silicone can pick up odors over time from bodies, lubes, and products used to clean it. Boiling your toy makes it sterile but doesn't always eliminate odors. If toy odor is bothering you, try a hydrogen peroxide soak. To do that, fully submerge the toy in a mixture of half warm tap water and half hydrogen peroxide from the drug store. Let it sit for an hour or two, then rinse.
If this gentle odor removing method fails, you can try baking it! Simply place the toy in a preheated 350 degree oven on a clean surface, such as a baking tray covered in foil or parchment, for 30 minutes. Allow the toy to cool thoroughly before handling. You may notice a slight darkening of the toy's color but it should not degrade in any way.
What is your lead time on made to order products?
Nearly all of the toys ThemFriends sells are made to order, which means that we need some time to pour and pack your toy after we receive your order. Generally we do not promise anything shorter than one calendar week (seven full days, regardless of weekends) between the time we receive your order and the time we drop it off at the post office. Check the banner at the very top of our website for updates on lead times. During the holidays we will do our best to keep you informed of the "buy before" date to have your order delivered by Christmas.
What shipping options do you offer?
All purchases, whether shipping was free or not, ship via USPS Priority Mail. They should arrive within 1-3 days after you get the notification that your item has shipped. Because we are a one person operation, we need to keep things simple and cannot offer other shipping options.
Will you ship internationally?
Yes, we do ship internationally via USPS First Class International, which offers an affordable price. Unfortunately we cannot offer free shipping to our international customers. Please be aware that some countries ban the import of goods of sexual nature. We cannot be held liable for purchases confiscated by customs in other countries; however, we will list items as "silicone sculptures" on customs forms to increase the chances your item will make it to your door.
Please also know that you will be responsible for any customs fees or import taxes, and that we have no control over how long a shipment may be held up in customs.
Yes, our packages generally go out in USPS priority mailers with no branding on the outside, so there's no way to tell what's inside. The ship-from address will only show "TFT" on the label, and the same thing will show up on your credit card/bank statement.
We generally aren't able to cancel orders once they're placed. When you make a purchase from ThemFriends, you're entering into an agreement with us to hand-create you a product. We take that seriously, and we hope you do too. Please be certain about your purchase before clicking Buy. That said, we all make mistakes. If you realize you meant to order something else, reach out and we will work with you.
Can I return my toy if I don't like it?
To ensure we take the best care of all of our customers, we can't offer returns. That way, everyone is assured they are getting a fresh new toy that's never been inside anyone else's house or body. We also know that buying a high quality toy can be a financial risk for some people! We honor your trust in us in making that decision. If your new toy doesn't work for your body please contact us and we'll work with you to make it right. We also strongly encourage you to reach out before making a purchase if you are unsure of how to choose a toy or are wavering between several choices. We would love to help!
My purchase never made it to me!
We hate it when this happens, too! Please reach out to us right away if you think your package has gone missing. We'll help you double check that the right address was on the order and can help check delivery status if you've lost your tracking number. When the delivery company says your package was delivered to the correct address but you never got it, we can help by sending a replacement.
We are all human, and sometimes ThemFriends makes mistakes. If you believe you have received the wrong toy, or if there appears to be a flaw in it (for toys not sold as "flops" or seconds), please reach out to us and send pictures. We do send quick refunds or free replacements for errors on our part.
Each ThemFriends toy is a one-of-a-kind, hand poured piece of art that comes from a handmade mold, and is then hand-trimmed. Because we aren't a large, industrial company, your toy will not look mass produced. Small cosmetic imperfections that don't impact the toy's usability or longevity may be present. These include:
- Tiny divots or bumps due to mold variations
- Trim marks at the base of the toy
- Variations in color swirls through the body and base of the toy
- A very slightly off center core in dual density toys (100% perfect centering is impossible by hand but we strive to have it very close!)
- Very slightly tacky texture to Soft and Very Soft toys (this is normal for those silicones and will disappear with lubrication)
Refunds will not be made for toys containing these features.
